Phase Three of the Spring Lake Boat Ramp improvements will begin starting the week of August 11, 2025 and will take three to five days.
What started out as a repair of the Power Loading hole on Spring Lake in September 2022, resulted in working with the Prior Lake Association, local state representatives and the DNR to secure funding to make some further enhancements of the boat ramp.
This work was divided into three phases.
- Phase One resulted in the fixed dock being replaced with a floating dock to minimize the impact of Spring Lake’s fluctuating water levels.
- Phase Two involved the placement of a buoy channel, red and green buoys, to help manage boat traffic into and away from the boat ramp and utilizing the wash from the boat’s propellers to help in keeping the channel clearer.
- Phase Three Work that was completed includes removing the old ramp, installing 45' of new planks and adding a new 30' slab of poured concrete. The ramp is now 75' long, which is 15' longer that the old ramp. This new ramp will help minimize damage to the lake bottom from power loading. Note, the ramp dock will be put back into place early this week
We would like to give special thanks to our local state legislators Senator Eric Pratt & Representative Ben Bakeberg, our friends at Prior Lake Association, the DNR, and several Board Members who volunteered their time to help make this happen.
